Pedaling together towards autonomy
The bicycle is much more than a means of transportation: it is a bridge that creates connections, breaks down barriers, and builds independence. The Stazione Radio project, supported by the Peppino Vismara Foundation and developed in collaboration with Diesis and AUTelier, transforms cycle tourism into a path to independence for neurodivergent people, fostering a natural dialogue between entities that share a common territory and vision: a social inclusion built on concrete actions and authentic relationships.

The project develops gradually, respecting everyone’s time and needs.
It begins with preparatory meetings between Diesis specialists, families, and children to map out the activities and build an environment of trust. Participation is voluntary, but it is encouraged through awareness-raising sessions that guide everyone through this new experience.
Then comes the introductory phase: users begin to getting comfortable with Stazione Radio’s surroundings and the bicycles available, including trikes and tandems. Preparatory activities take place in the railway garden in a safe and welcoming environment, where they can discover the vehicles without rush nor pressure.
Finally, the operational phase: once everyone is ready, we set off on excursions along the Martesana canal’s cycle path. The group experiences the vehicles outside the garden’s borders, always accompanied by Diesis specialists and a Stazione Radio chaperone.

The beginning of our cycling experience
For Diesis and AUTelier users, Stazione Radio has become a safe place where they feel welcome and involved. A solid foundation from which to build, and from which to cycle together towards new forms of independence.
